The Astana Financial Services Authority (AFSA) in Kazakhstan has obtained a court injunction from the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) Court, prohibiting six crypto platforms—Coinbase, BingX, Bitcoin.com, Huobi Global (HTX), BitMart, and WEEX—from offering or marketing digital asset services and distributing mobile applications within the AIFC region without proper licensing. The court clarified that this injunction strictly applies to the AIFC financial center, which operates under its own independent legal and regulatory framework, and to local users, rather than being a nationwide ban across Kazakhstan. The ruling also imposes restrictions on app stores like Google and Apple, though the court has not yet issued a direct ban on these app stores, instead requiring AFSA to engage with them first.
