Firelight's new deposit flow lets you go from an XRPL wallet to a Flare vault without setting up a separate Flare wallet. You connect the XRPL wallet you already use, it mints FXRP through Flare Smart Accounts, and the FXRP goes into the Firelight vault. All you start with is XRP. I've watched a lot of people bounce off XRPFi at step one. They had to install a second wallet, find some FLR for gas and work out the minting, and somewhere in there they gave up or, worse, clicked a fake link. Cutting that down to one wallet is the biggest usability fix I've seen on Flare this year, and I say that as someone who builds on this stuff and knows how painful onboarding is. What I'd want people to understand before they deposit is what that FXRP is doing once it's in. Firelight is a cover protocol. When it launched on Oct. 6 it moved existing FXRP stakes into active cover, and Firelight says stakers don't back one market. Their exposure is to the protocol's combined claim experience across every covered market, for the periods their collateral is active. You earn because you're on the hook if claims come in, the same way an insurer's capital is. I think that's a fair deal for some people and a bad fit for others, and an easier deposit button doesn't change which one you are. If anything, easy onboarding means more people arrive who never read how the pool works, so I hope the explainer gets as much attention as the button. If you've already put XRP into Firelight, did you read the claims side first, or did you go in for the yield? https://x.com/Firelightfi/status/2112167207434432671
