[Iranian Foreign Minister Says Negotiations with the U.S. via Mediators Are Ongoing, Refuses to Disclose U.S. Additional Conditions] Golden Finance reported on October 21 that Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi stated in an exclusive interview with a Middle Eastern television station that Iran and the United States are continuing indirect negotiations through mediators such as Pakistan and Qatar. Iran had previously proposed a 'Seven-Day Plan' to the U.S., clearly outlining Iran's conditions; according to the plan, the Strait of Hormuz was originally scheduled to be fully opened on the sixth day. Araghchi said the U.S. had informed Iran that it agreed to these conditions but hoped to add several clauses. He refused to disclose whether the additional conditions from the U.S. pertain to security or economic issues, stating, 'We will not negotiate through your station.' Araghchi emphasized that Iran demands the U.S. fulfill all commitments outlined in the previously signed 'Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.' Only after the U.S. fulfills its obligations can both sides proceed to negotiate other topics. He stated that in the final stage of negotiations, both parties can discuss any subject or issue proposed by either side and reach a final agreement on it.
