They are accused of providing online gambling services to over 32,000 certified users in Utah, violating the state’s gambling ban and constituting a public nuisance. The state government is asking the court to prohibit Kalshi from offering betting services on sports, elections, politics, and cultural events locally, enforce the ban through geolocation measures, and seek up to $60 million in refunds.
