According to NADA NEWS, the Japan Financial Services Agency (FSA) highlighted DeFi and DEX regulation as priority research topics in materials released on October 20. The discussions aim to address smart contract risks, anti-money laundering measures, and whether DEX access application providers should bear responsibilities for risk disclosure and identity verification. Nomura Holdings, a major Japanese financial group, suggested that Japan should avoid implementing overly strict DeFi regulations ahead of other countries, ensuring a level of freedom comparable to overseas markets and refraining from imposing excessive restrictions on non-custodial wallet providers. Currently, these matters are still in the research phase, and no formal regulations have been established yet.
