[Stock Market Weakness May Suppress Bitcoin Demand, Analysts Warn $80,000 Support Level Could Be Tested]
Deep Tide TechFlow reports that on October 20, according to CoinDesk, the cryptocurrency market experienced a pullback due to declines in Asian stock markets and rising crude oil prices. Bitcoin fell approximately 1.1% within 24 hours to around $81,466. Analysts at QCP Capital noted in a Monday report that further weakness in the stock market could suppress demand for Bitcoin. If the broader trend of stock market deleveraging continues, it could spill over into the cryptocurrency market and threaten the $80,000 support level.
Currently, Bitcoin's price remains above this support level. On Monday, U.S. Bitcoin spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs) recorded approximately $527 million in net inflows for the day, marking a nearly one-month high. Among these, BlackRock's IBIT saw $665 million in net inflows, but the capital flows were highly concentrated, with Fidelity and Grayscale experiencing net outflows. Meanwhile, Ethereum ETFs saw $103.3 million in net outflows, marking the fourth consecutive day of outflows.
On the macroeconomic front, the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield is near 5.13%, while Brent crude oil prices are trading around $110 per barrel. Inflation risks, combined with geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, continue to weigh on the market. Although the Federal Reserve is expected to keep interest rates unchanged next week, market forecasts still indicate a 25 basis point rate hike next month.
From a technical perspective, Bitcoin's weekly chart remains above the 50-week exponential moving average (EMA), and the Relative Strength Index (RSI) shows no significant divergence. In the short term, Bitcoin is more likely to consolidate above the support level.
