On October 20, Bitget announced plans to acquire Bangkok-based digital asset exchange and brokerage GMO-Z com Cryptonomics (Thailand) Co., Ltd. through its involvement with BTGT Management (Thailand) Ltd. Under the proposed transaction, GMO Internet and its subsidiaries will transfer all shares of the target company, pending necessary regulatory approvals for the deal to close. GMO-Z com Cryptonomics (Thailand) holds licenses for digital asset exchange and brokerage operations in Thailand. Bitget stated that after completing the acquisition and obtaining regulatory approval for the change of control, it plans to introduce its trading platform to the Thai market.
