[Solana Governance Vulnerability Fixed, Did Not Affect the Passing of Proposal SGP-0002] Odaily Planet Daily News: Blockchain security research institution Asymmetric Research disclosed that there was a vulnerability in Solana's on-chain governance program svmgov. When validators did not participate in voting, independent votes submitted in advance by their delegators might not be counted in the final results. The vulnerability was reported to the Solana Foundation on July 10 and was fixed on the mainnet by August 3, prior to the governance vote on August 24. According to on-chain data calculations by Asymmetric Research, if the vulnerability had not been fixed, the approval rate for proposal SGP-0002, which aims to accelerate the reduction of SOL inflation, might have dropped from the actual 67.00% to 66.65%, falling below the 66.67% threshold required for approval. The vulnerability was fixed before the vote, and the proposal's outcome was not affected.
