Wu Blockchain has learned that blockchain security research institution Asymmetric Research disclosed a vulnerability in Solana's on-chain governance program, svmgov: when validators did not participate in voting, independent votes submitted in advance by their delegators might not be counted in the final results. The vulnerability was reported to the Solana Foundation on July 10 and fixed on the mainnet by August 3, ahead of the governance vote on August 24. According to on-chain data analysis by Asymmetric Research, if the vulnerability had not been fixed, the approval rate for proposal SGP-0002, aimed at accelerating the reduction of SOL inflation, could have dropped from the actual 67.00% to 66.65%, falling below the 66.67% threshold required for passage.
