[Papertrade Adjusts Fee Structure and PAPER Token Issuance Curve, Token Transfers Temporarily Unavailable] TechFlow News, October 20: The Papertrade (@papertrade_xyz) team members blurr and jez announced on the X platform that Papertrade will upgrade its contract and currently has no plans to enable off-chain transfers of the PAPER token. The team stated that if the token becomes transferable, external perpetual contract markets could short the 'liquidity pool solvency,' raising the target amount for manipulation attacks from the pool size to 'pool size plus short exposure.' For example, when the liquidity pool is $10 million, an attack costing $15 million would originally be unfeasible, but if one simultaneously holds a $10 million PAPER short position, the attack becomes profitable. Regarding fees, the previous system used a 0.2bps dead zone fee. The new plan introduces two modes: 'trading hours' and 'non-trading hours.' It only affects positions closed within a price movement of 6bps (0.06%) after opening (10bps, or 0.1%, during non-trading hours). Transactions exceeding the threshold will maintain the same fee structure. According to backtesting data since launch, the team stated that this adjustment impacts the profitability of bot strategies approximately 15 times more than that of regular traders. The adjustment is expected to relax the open interest (OI) cap. In terms of tokenomics, for every $1 loss, a fixed proportion of PAPER supply will be minted, approximately 0.1% for every $1 million loss. The minting mechanism during bankruptcy or near-bankruptcy will shift from a fixed rate of minting 100 tokens per $1 loss to a time-weighted multiplier that increases over time. The team stated that this measure can prevent 'minting straddle attacks' and will gradually dilute early holders.
