[Papertrade Founder Responds to Controversy Over PAPER Transfer Ban: Perpetual Contract Market Launched Ahead of Schedule, Protocol Yet to Address Potential Attack Risks] Odaily Planet Daily News – Papertrade founder Jez responded to the controversy surrounding the non-transferability of the PAPER token in a post on the X platform. He stated that the team had been aware of certain unresolved technical issues before the protocol's launch, including potential attack risks associated with the perpetual contract market. However, they had originally anticipated having more time to find solutions. Jez noted that the team previously believed it would take approximately six months for a large-scale perpetual contract market to launch, but the market's development progressed much faster than expected, forcing the team to make a decision before an effective solution could be found. To ensure the long-term healthy development of the protocol, PAPER has currently been set to a non-transferable state. He emphasized that PAPER represents users' rights to the protocol's revenue, and its long-term value depends on whether Papertrade itself can continue to attract traders, rather than on whether the token can be freely traded. The team is unwilling to limit the growth of the protocol's business in order to support perpetual contract trading of PAPER. In response to community concerns about rule changes harming the interests of early users, Jez stated that the adjustments were not made lightly. Instead, they were risk management decisions based on actual operational data from the first week after the protocol's launch. He added that the team will continue to adjust protocol parameters in the future to ensure long-term sustainability.
