[Tether CEO Responds to U.S. Senator's Sanctions Report: Stablecoin Transaction Volume Involving Iran Has Dropped by 94%]
Odaily Planet Daily News - Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino posted on the X platform in response to a report released by U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal regarding Tether's sanctions enforcement. Ardoino stated that the report overlooks Tether's proactive actions in freezing addresses subject to sanctions. Since 2023, Tether has, on average, implemented freezes on relevant addresses 4 weeks earlier than the official designations by the U.S. Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and Israel's National Bureau for Counter-Terror Financing (NBCTF). Furthermore, in 99% of cases, the addresses were frozen before being flagged by Chainalysis.
