[Aptos Announces Encrypted Mempool Feature Now Live on Mainnet to Prevent Front-Running and Sandwich Attacks] According to a report by Jinse Finance, Layer 1 blockchain Aptos has launched an optional new feature aimed at helping traders defend against Maximum Extractable Value (MEV)-related attacks, including front-running and sandwich attacks. On Monday, Aptos announced that its Encrypted Mempool feature is now live on the mainnet. Users can choose to enable this feature, ensuring that pending transactions remain encrypted until block ordering is finalized. Aptos stated that the feature is primarily designed for institutions submitting large transactions on-chain, traders looking to mitigate MEV risks, AI agents, and developers. Aptos explained: "Today, when you send a transaction on any major blockchain, anyone monitoring the network can see the details before the transaction is executed, including the functions you call, the assets and amounts involved, and the smart contracts you interact with. Bots use this information to execute targeted trades or replicate your trading strategies." A sandwich attack is a form of MEV attack. According to Cointelegraph's analysis of EigenPhi data, Ethereum traders lost approximately $60 million to sandwich attacks in the 12 months leading up to October 2025. On Solana, based on an 11-month observation period analyzed by Bitquery, sandwich attacks generated $29.7 million in profits for bots. The study identified nearly 6.9 million attacks, affecting approximately 2.2 million wallets.
