[Papertrade Has No Plans to Enable PAPER Token Transferability and Will Adjust Fees and Token Minting Mechanism] BlockBeats News, October 20: Papertrade announced that there are currently no plans to enable the transfer of PAPER tokens outside the contract. The team will also adjust short-term trading fees and the token issuance curve. The team believes that PAPER perpetual contracts could make the liquidity pool's solvency a target for shorting, with external short positions potentially increasing the profitability of manipulation attacks, which are beyond the protocol's control. The fee adjustments will be implemented in phases and will only affect trades where the closing price is within 0.06% or 0.1% of the opening price. Trades exceeding these thresholds will not see any fee changes. According to backtesting data since the platform's launch, these adjustments are expected to impact the profitability of bot strategies by approximately 15 times more than that of regular traders, potentially creating room to relax the open interest cap. Regarding token issuance, for every $1 million in losses, approximately 0.1% of the then-current PAPER supply will be minted, with the exact ratio depending on the minting rate at the time of contract upgrades. When the liquidity pool approaches or falls into an insolvent state, the fixed rate of minting 100 PAPER per $1 loss will be replaced by a time-weighted multiplier mechanism. The team stated that, in the long term, the new mechanism will gradually dilute the shares of earlier holders, giving newer users a relative advantage. This upgrade will also introduce builder codes initially accessible only to a whitelist and adjust certain contract permissions to prevent Gas consumption attacks. The team will issue a separate announcement when the upgrade enters the timelock phase, with plans to go live 24 hours thereafter, pending final security checks. [Original Link]
