[Tether CEO Responds to U.S. Senator's Report: Stablecoin Transactions Linked to Iran Down 94%] Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino posted on the X platform, stating that U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal's "analysis" of Tether's sanctions report overlooks one key point: Since 2023, Tether has, on average, frozen relevant addresses four weeks earlier than the formal sanctions designations by the U.S. Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and Israel's National Bureau for Counter Terror Financing (NBCTF). Furthermore, in 99% of cases, the freezing was completed before Chainalysis flagged the related addresses. He noted that Tether's actions have led to a 94% reduction in stablecoin transaction volume linked to Iran.
