Whoa! Dropped $639 million on Bitcoin in October—Is Strive about to become the next MSTR?
This U.S. stock company has been going crazy buying BTC lately!
Strive (Nasdaq: ASST) went from holding 28,000 BTC at the end of September to 35,595 BTC. That’s a net increase of 7,595 BTC in October so far, a 27.1% jump in holdings. They’ve spent about $639 million and climbed to the 4th largest Bitcoin-holding public company globally, even surpassing MARA.
One of the founders is Vivek Ramaswamy, but the current CEO, Matt Cole, has even bigger ambitions: aiming to become the world’s second-largest Bitcoin-holding public company by the end of 2026.
Looking at their October purchase records, they’re definitely going all in:
1. October 2: Bought 1,462 BTC, about $124 million.
2. October 5–9: Bought 3,311 BTC, about $280 million.
3. October 12–13: Bought 2,822 BTC, about $235 million.
As of October 19, their latest disclosed holdings stand at 35,595 BTC.
Strive’s strategy is very similar to MicroStrategy (MSTR): raising funds through the capital markets to continuously buy Bitcoin, aiming for long-term growth in BTC holdings per share. Currently, they have no traditional debt, no Bitcoin collateralized, and they also manage over $2.8 billion in assets through their asset management business.
On October 12–13, Strive exercised traditional warrants in bulk, involving 13.67 million common shares, which is expected to bring in $369.2 million.
On October 15, they increased the issuance size of their new preferred stock, SATS, from 5 million shares to 7 million shares, priced at $90 per share. This is expected to raise $630 million, with the deal set to close on October 20.
SATS has a face value of $100 per share with a fixed annual dividend of 15%, or $15 per year. Based on the $90 issue price, the initial cash dividend yield for investors is actually as high as 16.67%, assuming the company pays dividends in full.
