Early this morning, Bitcoin dropped below 81, but by 6 AM, oil prices fell below $99, which immediately drove $BTC to rebound near 83. I looked around and didn’t see any news about U.S.-Iran geopolitics. If I had to say, it’s probably related to Trump claiming he’s helping Russia and Ukraine end the war quickly and making significant progress. Then oil prices plummeted instantly and are still below 99 now. The weekend’s rally really made me nervous, worried about a sudden spike. But it’s true that WTI has been fluctuating in the 85-100 range, maybe it’s just capital pricing. Meanwhile, U.S. stock indices also rebounded pre-market. If only I had gone long on Micron over the weekend, it would’ve been great. But no big regrets. Now we’re just two weeks away from the midterm elections. Plus, with this month’s Fed meeting, CME currently shows the probability of a rate hike in October is below 15%, so it’s still being held down. But what about December? It still depends on Trump. Right now, Trump’s approval rating has dropped to 33%, and the Republican Party is under pressure ahead of the U.S. midterm elections. I’ve been holding short positions on oil since July—four months now. Let’s see what happens next with Trump. Honestly, I do regret not closing out and walking away in early August. But of course, hindsight is 20/20. Also, the U.S.-Iran peace talks that advanced in September are still at a stalemate. It’s the same issues as before—who goes first, who goes second. It’s all about who’s willing to make concessions. At least for now, WTI doesn’t seem likely to spike too high. And if it does, it’ll push efforts to suppress oil prices, given the high-risk inflation pressure. As for fees, they’re still acceptable for now. Even if they’re not, it’s just exhausting. Moving forward, I need to remember to take profits when I can. There are so many opportunities in the market, after all!
