[CoreWeave and Eight Other U.S. Companies Oppose Tokenized Versions of Their Stocks Trading on OKXICE]
According to a report by Jinse Finance on October 19, as disclosed by unfolded., nine U.S. companies (including CoreWeave, Broadcom, Verizon, UnitedHealth Group, and AppLovin) have formally filed objections under the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)'s innovation exemption provisions to prevent tokenized versions of their stocks from being traded on OKXICE (a joint platform by OKX and ICE). The platform initially planned to enable 24/7 on-chain trading of 63 stock tickers through a licensed Uniswap liquidity pool. The disputed tickers account for approximately 14% of the total.
OKXICE plans to proceed with the remaining tickers that have not faced objections (e.g., NVIDIA NVDA, Apple AAPL). The companies' concerns primarily revolve around **unauthorized listings, liquidity and volatility risks, and potential confusion for investors**. This incident highlights that the tokenization of real-world assets like stocks (Stock RWA) must obtain the consent of the issuers. While the short-term market impact is limited, this serves as a warning signal for unauthorized asset tokenization activities.
