[CME Group Adds Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap Futures, Single Asset Crypto Contracts Increase to 11]
According to a report by Blockhead on October 19, CME Group is set to launch Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Uniswap (UNI) futures on October 19. Both products will feature standard and micro contracts: BCH contracts will be for 250 units and 25 units respectively, while UNI contracts will be for 10,000 units and 1,000 units respectively. After the launch, the number of single asset crypto futures offered by CME Group will reach 11. Previously introduced Cardano, Chainlink, Stellar, Avalanche, and Sui futures have achieved a nominal trading volume exceeding $1 billion this year.
Giovanni Vicioso, CME Group's Global Head of Crypto Products, stated that as the crypto market continues to mature, participants require a broader range of regulated tools to manage price risks. As of the time of reporting, the product page still indicates "pending regulatory review." If the UNI contract trades for six months as scheduled, it will meet the SEC's general listing standards, which require "underlying futures to trade on a CFTC-regulated designated contract market for at least six months," paving the way for Bitwise's pending spot Uniswap ETF.
