Saylor wants to use Bitcoin to disrupt the $350 billion stablecoin market: Zero volatility in USD, 8% annual yield—Is the Fed of the crypto world coming?
Saylor's idea is to back a new type of USD stablecoin with Bitcoin, targeting an annual yield of 6%–8%, while maintaining a USD peg and ultra-low volatility.
He even posed this question: If stablecoins can give you an 8% annual yield, why would you still hold $350 billion worth of stablecoins that generate no returns?
Saylor, who holds a large amount of BTC, is raising funds through preferred shares like STRC to offer digital credit products to investors. In the future, these products could be tokenized to further build a digital dollar that is payable, tradable, collateralizable, and yield-generating.
