Whoa! 13 years ago, someone used Excel to draw a line that *accurately* predicted Bitcoin's long-term price trend for the next 13 years (R²=0.952)!
On February 13, 2013, Bitcoin was only $25. A user named Dacoinminster on the Bitcointalk forum took early BTC price data, threw it into Excel, and fitted a power law curve.
Over the past 13+ years, the parameters of this formula haven’t been changed even once, yet it has withstood multiple Bitcoin bull and bear cycles, exchange collapses, ETF launches, and institutional adoption.
According to this 2013 curve:
2026: Model price ~$97,000, actual ~$81,000
2030: ~$250,000
2035: ~$830,000
2036: ~$1,000,000
2040: ~$2,200,000
For over 13 years, the out-of-sample logarithmic price fit has achieved an R² of 0.952!
