Institutional funds are pulling out! Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs lost over $1.2 billion in a single week!
Latest data shows that U.S. cryptocurrency spot ETFs are experiencing significant outflows.
October 5 to 9:
Bitcoin BTC ETF: Net outflow of $679 million
Ethereum ETH ETF: Net outflow of $542 million
Total net outflow reached a staggering $1.221 billion!
This is a signal we can’t ignore.
In the past, during market uptrends, we saw ETFs consistently attracting funds, with growing institutional demand becoming a key driver of Bitcoin’s price.
But now, the situation has reversed.
When the funds that once fueled the market’s rise start to withdraw, short-term prices naturally face more selling pressure.
However, I think the real question isn’t how much money has flowed out of ETFs.
It’s this:
When the market sees a net outflow of over $1.2 billion, how much will Bitcoin actually drop?
If the outflows continue but the price stops hitting new lows…
That could mean other buyers are stepping in to absorb the selling pressure.
On the flip side, if ETF outflows expand and prices keep breaking key support levels, then we’ll need to reassess short-term risks.
Fund flows tell us what kind of pressure the market is under, while price reactions reveal how strong the market is.
I won’t declare a bear market just because of massive ETF outflows.
Nor will I assume this is the final buying opportunity just because prices are dropping.
What truly matters is observing whether, during the market’s most pessimistic moments, selling pressure starts losing its ability to impact prices.
With over $1.2 billion withdrawn, do you think this is institutions retreating or the final shakeout before the next rally?
Let your positions reflect your analysis.
