[Vitalik Launches AI Paranoid Mode to Hide Chat and Payment Traces] According to a report by BeInCrypto on October 19, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin introduced the 'Paranoid Mode' for his AI agent on October 16. This mode is designed to conceal user identities, request origins, and payment traces. The solution integrates zkAPI, Tor, additional obfuscation traffic, and local large model prompt rewriting into a daemon compatible with OpenAI, while also designing an outer layer encapsulation for the AI framework pi. The implementation consists of four steps: 1. Tor assigns an independent circuit for each conversation to hide IP addresses. 2. Random obfuscation traffic masks real requests. 3. Local small models rewrite prompts to reduce identifiable information. 4. zkAPI uses cryptographic proofs to show that requests have been paid for without exposing the payer. The payment system is already operational on the Ethereum mainnet, accepting deposits in ETH and USDC. Vitalik stated that the system is 'quite usable,' though initiating new conversations is slower, and the AI agent is restricted within a software sandbox to limit its access permissions.
