[Fairshake's Opposition to Sherrod Brown Spending Rises to $46.66 Million]
According to a report by Decrypt on October 19, as cited by Jinse Finance, documents submitted by the crypto super PAC Fairshake to the U.S. Federal Election Commission reveal that its affiliate, Defend American Jobs, has added approximately $7 million in advertising expenditures to oppose Ohio Democratic Senator Sherrod Brown. This brings its total opposition spending for the year to approximately $46.66 million, making it the most expensive target for 2026.
The documents, signed on October 15, include $5.2 million for media purchases, with an additional $1.95 million and production costs added a few days later. The filings also show parallel expenditures in support of his Republican opponent, Jon Husted.
Brown, who has chaired the Senate Banking Committee, is a long-time crypto skeptic. In 2024, when he lost his seat, Fairshake had invested approximately $40 million. The PAC is primarily funded by Coinbase, Ripple, and Andreessen Horowitz, and held approximately $120 million in cash as of September. Its expenditures for this cycle are expected to exceed $100 million.
