[Iranian Foreign Minister Reaffirms Seven-Day Navigation Plan: Next Steps Depend on the U.S.] BlockBeats News, October 18, according to Iran's Press TV, Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi stated that Tehran has proposed a specific seven-day plan aimed at restoring normal navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. The decision on the next steps now lies in the hands of the United States. Araghchi, speaking at the 52nd Council of Foreign Ministers meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) held in Baghdad on Saturday, said that Iran has conveyed this proposal via Qatar. If the necessary conditions are met, Iran is prepared to reopen the Strait of Hormuz within seven days and restore normal maritime passage. Araghchi emphasized that Iran remains committed to ensuring the navigational safety of this strategic waterway. He stated that the disruption to maritime traffic stems from the military aggression of the U.S. and Israel, as well as the restrictive measures subsequently imposed by the U.S. He remarked: 'Security cannot be restored by repeating the same actions. You cannot bomb a country, threaten to destroy it completely, impose blockades, and then expect navigational safety to return to normal.' According to Araghchi, within two weeks, maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz had once recovered to approximately 60% of pre-conflict levels. However, subsequent measures and military actions taken by the U.S. have hindered the implementation of relevant agreements.
