[Former Ripple Advisor: XRPL Technology Ready to Serve Banks, But No Guarantee of XRP Price Increase] According to a report by Coinpedia on October 18, as cited by Jinse Finance, former Ripple CBDC advisor Anthony Welfare stated that the XRP Ledger (XRPL) is technically capable of supporting large-scale banking and cross-border payments. Speaking on the AllinCrypto podcast, he noted that XRPL can handle cross-border payments, tokenized assets, and fast, low-cost transactions, with transaction confirmations occurring within three seconds. It can also support digital payments like the USD stablecoin RLUSD. He believes there is no fundamental reason why the network cannot scale to meet the needs of banks, payment systems, and governments. However, he also cautioned that technical readiness does not guarantee institutional adoption or an increase in XRP's price. Institutions require more than just speed; they also need sufficient liquidity, reliable asset backing, custodial services, and compliance frameworks. Additionally, different enterprises may choose Ethereum, Arbitrum, or private chains instead of relying on a single ledger. Welfare emphasized that increased usage of XRPL does not automatically translate to demand for XRP or a rise in its price. The extent to which the token benefits depends on its actual use in payments. As of the time of reporting, XRP was trading at approximately $1.31 amid a broader cryptocurrency market pullback.
