[Strategy Not Removed from MSCI Index, MSCI Tightens Rules for Bitcoin Treasury Companies]
Odaily Planet Daily News - On October 15, MSCI revised the eligibility rules for constituents of its Global Investable Market Indexes, tightening the definition of 'non-operating companies' and subjecting Bitcoin treasury companies to stricter scrutiny. Strategy, led by Michael Saylor, has not been removed from the MSCI Index as of now. MSCI stated that it will assess whether a company qualifies as 'non-operating' based on its operational and financial characteristics, noting that companies holding digital assets may still engage in genuine business activities. Existing constituents are also subject to a buffer mechanism, and the implications will be further clarified during the November index review.
