[Binance bStocks Tokenized Stock AUM Surpasses $1 Billion in About Four Months Since Launch] According to a report by NewsBTC on October 18, Binance announced that the assets under management (AUM) for its bStocks tokenized stock product have surpassed $1 billion, approximately four months after its launch. Binance disclosed this figure on October 15, citing cumulative trading volume exceeding $40 billion and the expansion of tokenized U.S. stocks and ETF categories. Eligible users can trade tokens that track exposure to underlying securities (held in custody); however, unlike directly holding common stock, such instruments may not grant equivalent voting rights or shareholder privileges. Their appeal lies in low entry thresholds, transferability, and integration with digital asset products. Binance has explored using tokenized equity as collateral for derivatives, which presents a potential advantage over traditional brokerages but also introduces counterparty, custody, and market structure risks. This product is not available to U.S. persons, and tokenization does not exempt it from obligations related to securities trading. While the $1 billion milestone is significant, sustained growth will depend on the transparency of underlying assets, reliable liquidity, and advantages that traditional infrastructure cannot easily replicate.
