[Fidelity Report: Solana Network Shows Strong Resilience, but Centralization Issues Require Ongoing Observation] According to a report by Cointelegraph on October 18, Fidelity's Center for Applied Technology (FCAT) released a report stating that Solana has made significant progress in network health metrics such as resilience, economic security, and performance indicators, with no mainnet downtime recorded in the past two years. Mechanisms supporting economic security include large-scale staking participation and incentivized validator performance, while low latency, scalability, and low-cost transactions contribute to large-scale applications. However, the report pointed out that centralization in staking, custody, and client software could threaten this record. Several aspects of decentralization and resilience still require ongoing observation, including staking concentration among a small number of validator identities and operators. Cointelegraph previously reported on August 21 that Solana had reduced its block production time (slot time) to 350 milliseconds for the first time since the network's launch. According to Jacob Creech, Vice President of Technology at the Solana Foundation, the foundation proposed in June to further reduce it to 200 milliseconds, with plans for three additional reductions of 50 milliseconds each.
