[Zelensky: Ukrainian Energy Facilities Hit by Large-Scale Russian Attacks] Golden Finance reported on October 17, citing CCTV, that on the 17th local time, Ukrainian President Zelensky stated that Russian forces launched large-scale attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure. Over 320 'Shahed' drones, loitering munitions, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles were deployed within 12 hours, damaging more than 15 key power generation and transmission facilities across the country. Zelensky said that Russia is attempting to disrupt Ukraine's energy supply before the onset of winter, causing widespread power outages. Although Ukrainian forces intercepted a significant portion of the incoming targets, the scale and duration of the attacks were extensive, resulting in severe damage to energy facilities. Repair efforts are currently ongoing.
