[SecuX Wallet App Faces Issues After Emergency Maintenance, CTO Schwartz Reveals Phishing Notification in App] According to posts from the official SecuX X account and Ripple CTO David 'JoelKatz' Schwartz, hardware wallet manufacturer SecuX announced a 'major system upgrade and emergency maintenance' for its app on October 16. At 3:34 PM that afternoon, the company stated that services had 'resumed normal operation.' However, later that evening, Schwartz disclosed that the SecuX Android app had pushed a fraudulent notification to him, which, when clicked, directed to a phishing page prompting the input of a 12/24-word recovery phrase. SecuX did not explain the cause of the incident but reiterated that it would never request recovery phrases. As of October 17, multiple users reported being unable to access their wallets, with services still unavailable.
