Seeing the essence through the surface
Tesla's Roadster
was never meant to make money.
From the very first prototype,
it had only one mission: to tell a story.
First generation: The fastest.
Second generation: Goes to space.
Third generation: Will fly.
My guess? Delivery is probably another five years away.
And for those who pre-ordered, chances are they won’t get their cars either.
But they’ve already gotten what they wanted:
A post for their Moments, a tweet for their Twitter.
That’s enough.
And Tesla? They’ve gotten what they wanted too: exposure.
Delayed for how many years? No one cares.
This is Musk’s brilliance.
Tesla doesn’t avoid advertising;
it just spends the ad budget elsewhere—
and gets even better results.
