[Quantitative Giant Jump Trading to Provide Market-Making Services for Compute Futures on CME and Other Exchanges]
According to Bloomberg, Jump Trading and DRW are deploying trading teams and proprietary capital to tap into the emerging AI compute derivatives market. Jump has formed a dedicated team and plans to use its own balance sheet to take on trading risks and provide market-making services for compute futures proposed by CME (Chicago Mercantile Exchange) and Silicon Data, as well as competitive contracts launched by ICE (Intercontinental Exchange) and Ornn.
Additionally, DRW plans to conduct compute trading through three teams employing different strategies, with plans to trade Silicon Data's products, though it has yet to decide which other compute contracts to participate in. However, analysts believe the market still faces challenges such as lack of price transparency, significant GPU price differences across regions and configurations, and the inability to store compute power.
