Is Elon planning to make it so humans won’t even touch a steering wheel in the future?
Today, the video of Tesla’s flying car, the Roadster, went viral. 0–60 mph acceleration in just 0.81 seconds, and it can even briefly hover using SpaceX’s propulsion tech—pretty wild stuff.
But what I think deserves more attention from the launch event is something @elonmusk said:
The Roadster might be the only Tesla in the future that requires human driving.
That one sentence says a lot.
It shows that Elon’s vision for Tesla’s future is leaning more and more toward AI, Robotaxi autonomous driving, and the Optimus humanoid robot.
From an investment perspective, even if the Roadster goes into mass production, its contribution to Tesla’s profits might be pretty limited. But if Robotaxi can truly achieve large-scale commercialization, TSLA’s valuation logic could shift entirely.
Also, next Wednesday, October 21, Tesla’s Q3 earnings report is coming out.
Q3 vehicle deliveries hit 486,500, and energy storage deployment reached 13.7 GWh. This time, the focus will be on profit margins and whether there’s more tangible progress with Robotaxi and Optimus.
Elon’s already made cars fly—next, let’s see if he can make Tesla’s profits soar too. https://(x.com)/Tesla/status/2110913438293647789/video/1
