The U.S. stock market has been taking quite a hit these past few days, especially the AI tech stocks that had been surging the most before. The Nasdaq is down about 2.4% this week, and the semiconductor sector has been dropping for several consecutive days. This wave of corrections is mainly driven by higher-than-expected inflation, concerns over Fed rate hikes, massive investments in AI infrastructure, and debt issues. Stocks like CRWV and ORCL saw sharp single-day drops of about 15% and 9%, respectively. Although they rebounded somewhat afterward, the overall tech sector remains relatively weak. That said, I think the AI theme is still worth keeping an eye on, especially these names: ① NVDA NVIDIA The core player in AI computing power. Moving forward, the focus will be on whether tech giants can sustain their capital expenditures and whether NVIDIA’s earnings growth can justify its current valuation. ② AVGO Broadcom Aside from NVIDIA, AI custom chips are another area I’m watching closely. Key factors include major client orders and growth in AI-related business. ③ GOOGL Google / MSFT Microsoft I’m paying more attention to these two, as they have mature businesses and strong cash flow to back them up. Plus, their AI commercialization efforts are steadily advancing. ④ CRWV CoreWeave AI cloud computing demand is huge, but debt and financing costs are unavoidable issues. Its stock price tends to be much more volatile. ⑤ LLY Eli Lilly While tech stocks are correcting, the healthcare sector has been performing well. Eli Lilly’s stock rose over 3% on the latest trading day. Worth watching to see if this rotation of funds continues. For now, I’m leaning toward being more cautious, as concerns about interest rates and AI investments haven’t gone away. If the market continues to correct, I’ll focus more on tech giants with solid earnings and valuations that are gradually returning to reasonable levels.
