Celestia Launches Eden, a High-Performance EVM Chain to Explore On-Chain Transaction Demands of Agents

Celestia has announced the launch of Eden, a high-performance EVM chain based on Celestia and designed for experiments in the agent economy. Its goal is to study the on-chain behavior of agents and their demand for block space. Celestia stated that Eden's first experiment is the closed beta version of @botfunHQ, where agents can issue tokens and trade based on narratives created around each other. During the experiment, each inference call is paid on-chain via x402, and Eden once became one of the x402 chains with the highest number of transactions. According to the introduction, Eden is built using the Evolve Stack, leverages Celestia for data availability, and is compatible with existing Solidity contracts, Hardhat, Foundry, and Ethers/Viem, among other EVM development tools.
