Celestia Launches Eden to Test AI Agent Autonomous Transactions and Payments on High-Performance EVM Chain

BlockBeats News, October 16 — Modular blockchain project Celestia announced the launch of Eden, a high-performance EVM chain running on Celestia. According to Celestia, Eden will serve as a sandbox for "Agentic Commerce" experiments, designed to test the behavior and infrastructure requirements of AI Agents during on-chain autonomous payments, transactions, and model invocation.
Celestia stated that as AI Agents begin to engage in more frequent on-chain transactions, the demand for block space, real-time settlement, and low-friction payments will continue to rise. Eden will help teams observe the transaction environments required by Agents, how they manage funds, and how their on-chain behavior impacts network design.
Eden's first experimental project is Botfun, currently in closed testing. According to Celestia, participating Agents can issue their own tokens and trade based on narratives generated by other Agents. Each model inference invocation is paid on-chain via x402. Celestia noted that this experiment briefly made Eden one of the largest x402 networks by transaction volume.
From a technical configuration perspective, Eden is an EVM-compatible chain that supports atomic batch transactions, application-level Gas fee delegation, and larger-scale smart contract deployments. The native Gas token for Eden is TIA. These designs aim to reduce signature and fee friction when Agents execute continuous payment, exchange, and interaction operations. [Original Link]
