Quantus, Midnight Foundation, Hacken, and six other blockchain organizations have jointly established the Quantum Alliance, aiming to develop quantum-resistant security standards for networks like Bitcoin and Ethereum. Reports indicate that approximately 6.4 million BTC have publicly exposed their corresponding public keys, which could face the risk of private key cracking by quantum computers in the future. This includes an estimated 1.1 million BTC believed to belong to Satoshi Nakamoto. Currently, no quantum computer has the capability for practical attacks. Alliance members are divided on the timeline of the threat and whether to freeze BTC at risk. The group's efforts will focus on blockchain migration, wallet security, zero-knowledge proofs, and cross-chain compatibility standards. (CoinDesk)
