Wu Blockchain reports that CoinShares highlighted in its latest market update that the U.S. September CPI rose 3.7% year-over-year, higher than the expected 3.6%, and increased 0.6% month-over-month; core CPI rose 0.3% month-over-month. Meanwhile, retail sales grew 0.8%, exceeding the forecasted 0.3%, prompting the market to reassess the Federal Reserve's interest rate path. Bitcoin and the digital asset market are under pressure, with global digital asset investment products seeing a net outflow of $434 million so far this week. Although the market still expects a 75% chance that the Fed will keep rates unchanged in October, expectations for further rate hikes within the year have significantly risen. CoinShares believes that Bitcoin's short-term environment is challenging but not enough to warrant a fundamentally bearish outlook. The market needs more evidence of cooling inflation or weakening economic activity, and in the coming weeks, it may continue to exhibit range-bound volatility driven by economic data.
