A wake-up call for me last night—my elder at home, who’s been watching me since I got into this space, asked me: why? Turns out, I joined the blockchain and crypto industry not for decentralization, not for technological innovation, and not for a brand-new track. Turns out, blockchain—what everyone casually calls web3—has the ultimate goal of playing U.S. stocks? Am I fooling myself, or have I been misled by those in power? Has decentralization already stopped being decentralized? The foundation laid down by those before us—after going in circles—has it just returned to web2? I used to think that centralized regulation of secondary markets like exchanges was inevitable, and that only the primary market could remain decentralized. But now, it seems like the primary market has been artificially turned into a casino, with the goal of eliminating decentralization, killing the primary market, and driving liquidity to the secondary market. Or is it that everyone’s gambling nature is just that strong, and this is simply market sentiment, with no trace of human conspiracy? Am I wrong for saying this? Or have I misunderstood something? Please correct me.
