Foresight News reports that U.S. financial services company MSCI has announced the results of its consultation and will implement a proposal to exclude non-operating companies from the MSCI Global Investable Market Indexes, effective November 30, 2026, as part of the November index review. Non-operating companies, along with passive investment vehicles such as investment funds and business development companies (BDCs), will be excluded. MSCI will discontinue its previous interim measures for companies holding digital assets that account for more than 50% of their total assets (including restrictions on additional issuance, freezing of inclusion factor increases, and delays in inclusion). The eligibility of such companies will now follow the new methodology. A preliminary list of potentially affected current constituents has been published, with the final list to be released on November 11.
