The European Union thinks they are going to design and launch a competitor for Starlink. This is hilarious. 1) They are already arguing over jobs in each country. 2) Europe doesn't have the launch capability to compete with SpaceX. 3) 10x more expensive than Starlink. They could just hire SpaceX to launch a constellation for them, similar to how SpaceX did StarShield. SpaceX built it and launched it, then let's the US military operate it. But that is not the way Europe does things. They would rather have their version be 10x more expensive and massively subsidized.
