Bitcoin options and spot markets are like heaven and hell—two extremes of fire and ice.
Options market: Betting on $BTC hitting $95K.
On Deribit, BTC options expiring on October 30 account for 35% of the total open interest across the network, with a notional value exceeding $10 billion.
The biggest bullish bet is focused on $95K, with 24,000 BTC wagering that it will jump from $82K to $95K within a month.
Spot market: Fear of a drop, ETFs pulling out.
CPI exceeded expectations, and the probability of a rate hike surged from 22% to 44%. Bitcoin plunged from $86K to $80K. ETFs are seeing outflows, and the fear index is leaning toward bearish territory.
One side is betting on a rebound, the other is fearing rate hikes.
But the biggest pain point lies between $78K and $79K.
The bulls are betting on $95K, while the sellers want the price to stay at $78K. In between, there’s a $16K gap.
October 30—two forces collide.
So, what’s your guess? Will the option buyers win, or the sellers?
