[Scammer Loses Over 60 BTC, Approximately $4.8 Million, in Ledger Theft Incident]
BlockBeats News, October 16: According to disclosures from Chainalysis, one of the largest victims in the theft incident involving cryptocurrency hardware wallet manufacturer Ledger is, ironically, a scammer themselves. They lost over 60 BTC, valued at approximately $4.8 million, which originated from a phishing scam. In this scheme, participants were paid to fabricate sales and reviews for genuine products. Later, a 'negative balance' appeared, and participants were told they had to invest their own funds to receive payment.
On September 22, the mastermind behind the scam transferred the funds into three separate Ledger addresses. On October 9, the thief emptied all three addresses, transferring the funds from each address into the same wallet via a single transaction. The receiving wallet has been reported to be linked to stolen funds. [Original Link]
