[Nasdaq Proposes $5 Million Delisting Threshold, U.S. Domestic Companies Question 'One-Size-Fits-All'] According to Bloomberg, Nasdaq plans to introduce new regulations stating that if a listed company's market value remains below $5 million for 30 consecutive days, it will face immediate suspension and delisting procedures. The aim is to combat manipulative practices such as 'pump-and-dump' schemes in the overseas small-cap stock market. The proposal has sparked opposition from U.S. domestic small businesses, with concerned companies fearing that the new rules might also target firms with normal operations but volatile stock prices, thereby affecting their financing and business development. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) temporarily halted the advancement of the proposal last month and decided to seek further public input. Currently, there are over 190 Nasdaq-listed companies with market values below $5 million, nearly half of which are headquartered in the United States.
