According to The Defiant, liquid staking protocol Lido has announced the integration of native ETH direct staking functionality from four major Layer 2 networks—Arbitrum, Base, Linea, and Optimism—into its official staking frontend. Powered by Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP), users can now locally exchange ETH for wstETH on L2 without manually bridging ETH back to the Ethereum mainnet. The ETH deposited by users is processed through dedicated local liquidity pools to mint wstETH, with the exchange rate anchored to the official protocol rate via Chainlink price feeds rather than secondary market prices. The underlying ETH is automatically bridged to the Ethereum mainnet via CCIP to participate in Lido staking, while wstETH is returned to the L2 liquidity pools through native cross-chain bridges to maintain pool liquidity. https://www.(wublock123.com)/news/lido-native-staking-on-four-layer2s-supports-eth-to-wsteth-70132
