I read the article about Mixin by DeepTide, which mentioned that Mixin has completed the redemption of approximately $23 million for MDTu. It took three years to advance and fulfill this commitment, which deserves recognition. After reading it, I remembered the viewpoint I mentioned a few days ago when discussing the Ledger incident: the focus of cryptocurrency asset management is still on risk isolation and reasonable allocation. When encountering accidents, try to keep the losses within an acceptable range. My own habit is to use a hardware wallet to store a portion of my assets for a long time, and to use a small wallet for daily interactions. This way, even if there is a problem with authorization or operation, it will try not to affect long-term positions. But after separating the money, there are two issues worth arranging in advance: who needs to confirm when transferring a sum of money; What should I do if I lose my key. Especially for long-term accumulated large assets, or funds jointly managed by families and teams, if a key can determine the direction of the entire sum of money, simply distributing the funds is not enough, and the operational permissions are also worth carefully designing. The Mixin Safe section of the article provides a specific example. According to its public introduction, taking Bitcoin vault as an example, daily transfers require the participation of both the owner key and the co manager key, and approval thresholds can be set for the co management process. In this way, there is an additional joint confirmation before a fund is transferred out, reducing the risk of a single key being lost directly affecting the entire asset. It also features a recovery path with a time lock. After meeting the corresponding conditions, the recovery key needs to be matched with another valid key and cannot be transferred separately. There is a pre arranged path for how to handle lost keys. Returning to ourselves from this example, money with different purposes should indeed have different management methods. Daily interaction of funds, controlling amounts, leaving some room for operational errors; Long term holding, reducing interaction, independently storing keys and backups; Regarding large amounts of funds that involve joint management, it is necessary to agree in advance on who will approve them and how to restore them in case of unforeseen circumstances. These arrangements must also be truly implemented. If the co administrator sees the application and clicks confirm, or if several devices share a backup, the risk may still be concentrated. What information is required for the recovery process, how long to wait, and who to rely on for cooperation should also be clarified before use. Risk isolation includes not allowing one mistake to affect all funds, as well as not allowing one person's mistake to determine the direction of a whole sum of money. Choose the appropriate tools and prioritize these arrangements. Asset security cannot rely solely on people not making mistakes, but also on some truly executable rules.
