[ByteDance Reportedly Plans to Procure MediaTek Data Center AI Chips] According to DeepTech TechFlow on October 15, Bloomberg reported that ByteDance Ltd. is close to reaching a procurement agreement with MediaTek Inc., planning to purchase semiconductor chips for its data centers. Sources familiar with the matter revealed that the two parties are engaged in in-depth negotiations over the supply of custom application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs). These chips will be used to support the operation of ByteDance's data centers. If the agreement is finalized, ByteDance could become MediaTek's second-largest major customer for such custom chips, following Google (a subsidiary of Alphabet Inc.).
