[Getty Images Plans to Privatize Through Bankruptcy Restructuring, Existing Shareholders to Inject Up to $433 Million]
According to Bloomberg, Getty Images plans to achieve privatization through a pre-packaged bankruptcy restructuring. Members of the Getty family and Koch Equity Development will provide up to $433 million in equity funding, with an additional approximately $100 million in debt to be converted into equity. The restructuring will also settle $270 million in senior unsecured notes, extend the maturity of secured debt, and reduce interest rates. The company faces high debt burdens and pressure from clients shifting to AI-generated images, and its proposed merger with Shutterstock fell through in July.
