The Korean stock market tanked 5.46% yesterday, the worst day in two months.
At one point, it dropped as much as 7.41%, breaking below the key 6,000 level before bouncing back.
SK Hynix lost 10% in a single day, and Samsung followed with a 7% drop.
Foreign investors net sold 4.52 trillion KRW, equivalent to $3.4 billion USD—the heaviest sell-off since late July.
The trigger? A Chinese memory chip manufacturer announced plans to mass-produce next-gen server memory by the end of the year.
That AI-related calculation got re-evaluated.
$BTC hit a low of 81K that day, and $ETH dropped to 2409.
Checked again this morning—$BTC is back at 83.4K, and $ETH at 2510. Both have recovered.
Yesterday, I mentioned not to take altcoins too seriously for now.
Zooming out a bit, crypto and semiconductors are swimming in the same pool.
On the same day foreign investors sold off Korean stocks, high-beta assets on this side also got trimmed.
I don’t think 81K is the bottom for this round.
Until the AI-related calculations are fully sorted, I’m not touching my spot positions.
Not adding a single high-beta stock either.
